EZ Detect™ Colon Disease Test is a convenient self-screening test for bowel health check, that you can take fast and easily from the comfort of your home; The only test that doesn’t require stool handling, diet restrictions, or mailing the sample.

The Colon/Bowel Disease Test can easily and instantly detect signs of faecal occult blood (FOB or hidden blood) in your stool. Hidden blood in your stool is an early warning sign of bleeding ulcers, diverticulitis, fissures, haemorrhoids, polyps or bowel/colorectal cancer.

Bowel cancer arises from benign growths in the bowel known as polyps. The goal of screening is to detect and remove polyps before they have the opportunity to become cancerous.

EZ Detect™ Colon Disease Test is a 3-step process to identify if there is hidden blood in your stool. It allows for three separate stool samples to be screened, which provides higher accuracy and reliability, simply because a single small stool sample (as per other tests) can miss blood due to intermittent bleeding. With the EZ Detect you will sample the entire stool, not just part of it, making it less likely to miss occult blood.

Always follow the instructions provided in the package with the test.

The EZ Detect Colon Disease Test Kit contains a colon disease test pouch with 5 test pads, a positive control substance and a test result card to record your results.

The EZ Detect test is a 3-step process that will identify if there is hidden blood in your stool.

Let's have a look at how to use the test step by step:

Step 1: Water quality check

You need to check the water quality of your toilet because in some regions the water may contain other substances that may interfere with this test and cause a false result. Prepare for the test by removing all toilet cleaners, disinfectants and deodorisers from the toilet bowl and tank. Cut open the large pouch at the dotted line. Take one test pad out of the pouch. Float the test pad on top of the toiler water. Wait 2 minutes, you should see no blue-green colour. If blue-green colour appears on the pad, wait 3 days, then repeat Step 1 and skip Step 3.

Step 2: Stool Test

Step 2 consists of 3 consecutive bowel movements and 3 separate test pads are needed to complete this step. If necessary urinate first, then flush the toilet.

Have a bowel movement. Do not flush the toilet.

Remove the pad from the pouch and float it onto the toilet water. The pad doesn't need to touch the stool. Within 2 minutes, look for a blue-green colour on the test area of the pad. Record the results on the Test Result Card by marking an 'X' for positive or negative.

Positive (Blue-green colour); Negative (no colour)

Flush the toilet.

For the second and third bowel movements repeat Step 2 procedures. This completes the stool tests.

Step 3 - Test performance

This step must be completed in order for your results to be valid.

Flush the toilet. Carefully tear open the Positive Control package and sprinkle its contents into the bowl while water is filling up the bowl. Wait 1 minute and drop the last test pad into the bowl. Within 2 minutes, a blue-green cross should appear on the pad, meaning your test pads have worked properly. Wash your hands.

Record the results on the Test Result Card by marking an 'X' for colour or no colour.

Your test is now complete!

Note: If you have a positive stool test result, you should see your GP. If you have a negative result but have symptoms such as diarrhoea or constipation lasting longer than 2 weeks, unexplained weight loss, visible blood in your stool or dark black stools, you should consult your doctor.

Note: This is a screening test and should not be used to confirm the existence or absence of any disease condition. It is not a replacement for a colonoscopy or sigmoidoscopy. If you have any symptoms that concern you, consult your doctor - even if the test results are negative. This test is not designed as a test for upper gastrointestinal bleeding.
